Spark London was started by Joanna Yates on a cold winter’s night in December 2007. That night five people stood up and told stories connected to the theme of 'Beginnings.’ The audience was made up of 42 people who huddled together to keep warm while they listened intently to the stories. Since then we have produced over 60 live true storytelling shows in a variety of different locations hearing stories from over 500 people. In February 2011 we started a monthly open-mic event at The Ritzy in Brixton.

Our mission is to get many more people sharing their stories in London and round the world.

Spark London is inspired by a show sharing the same name that takes place in Santa Monica California. We are also huge fans of the Moth in New York.
